I’m Not Dead… Yet

Don’t worry, folks. I’m not dead yet.

Apologies for the radio silence. My mood took a slight dip during the week and that’s partially why I haven’t done any “blournalling” since last Monday.

Storm Éowyn came and went over the weekend. A few roof tiles fell and the backdoor to the garage was blown in, but compared to other parts of the UK and Ireland, we weren’t too badly affected. I saw the scale of the damage on the news and social media: uprooted trees, downed power lines, debris flying through the air and roofs being blown off. It was quite jaw-dropping, especially since so much of this carnage was happening in locations that are fairly close to home. Even now, there’s still a few thousand houses without power on both sides of the border and it might take several days before everyone’s back up and running.

We got off lucky, though. We must’ve had a brief blip during the middle of the night, but it was short lived and the power’s been intact since Friday morning.
