Last Day of 2024

Well, here we are… the last day of 2024. Not gonna lie, it really feels like this year went by in a flash. I know everybody says that but the older I get, the more noticeable that feeling becomes. If that’s not a clear sign to anyone that they should cherish the time they have, I don’t know what is.

It’s been a very stop-start type of year for me personally… plenty of great highs, a couple of crushing lows and plenty in-between… a bit like every other year, I suppose. Everybody normally does their yearly recaps around this time but I usually save mine until January. Yes, I know the New Year is merely hours away but as far as I’m concerned, it’s still 2024. I’ll be heading out for the night in a matter of minutes and while I’m not expecting to have too much fun, you never know what might happen.

All I know for sure is that this is definitely gonna be my last write-up for 2024. I want to at least try and hit the ground running in 2025, but I’m not making any promises. I’ve been struggling with creative drought for the better part of four years and that shit isn’t gonna suddenly disappear just because I say “Happy New Year” a few hundred times. It will linger about but hopefully, I can work through it.

I’m still mulling over my goals and resolutions for 2025, so that’ll be in a future “blournal” entry. For now though, I simply wanna enjoy the last few hours of this year and party like it’s 1999.
